Joseph Pendon

PhD, MSN, RN

Dr. Joseph F Pendon facilitates nursing research essential in Rancho Los Amigos’ pursuit of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program for nursing excellence, as well as leading strategic initiatives at the DHS Office of Nursing Affairs. He received his PhD (Nursing) from The University of Sydney specializing in Lived-Experience research (Phenomenology/Ontology) to scaffold his pre-doctoral experience in quantitative studies. He hopes to develop studies at RLA that benefit patient care outcomes gained through the lens of mix-methods research to support Rancho’s Rise to Excellence. Having worked for Safety-Net health systems both in the United States and Australia, Dr. Pendon possesses a wide breadth of practice experience in critical care and emergency nursing, nursing leadership, Quality/Risk/Patient Safety and Improvement science. He is an adjunct academic at The University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health in Australia.
