Dr. Sylvia Shaw has had various leadership roles at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Hospital. She previously served as Chair of the Department of Medicine, Medical Director of Outpatient Specialty Services and Chief of Endocrinology. Dr. Shaw was President of the Professional Staff Association (PSA) at Rancho Los Amigos and was involved in PSA Leadership position for a total of 8 years, and served as an Associate Medical Director for two years. She currently serves as RRI Board Secretary.
As a clinician, she is a board certified endocrinologist, providing inpatient and outpatient consultation. She has been an inpatient primary care provider on the Limb Preservation Service for more than 22 years. Dr. Shaw completed medical School at U.C. Davis and both residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Endocrinology at LAC+USC. She also obtained a Master’s degree in teaching and learning from USC Keck School of Medicine and has academic appointments at both Keck School of Medicine and Western School of Medicine.
Her research interest is in Diabetes management and complications.
