CLINICAL TRIALS DIVISION

About

Rancho Research Institute’s (RRI) Clinical Trials Division (CTD) is dedicated to facilitating the rigorous testing of new pharmaceutical and device technologies. CTD oversees industry-sponsored and grant-based trials in several rapidly expanding areas that are essential to the unique patient population of Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center (Rancho), including Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Urology, Nephrology, Podiatry, and Gerontology.

Clinical trials are an essential part of RRI’s mission, delivering significant and tangible benefits to Rancho’s patients. Here’s how the Clinical Trials Division is making a meaningful impact at Rancho today:

01

Addressing Unmet Needs:

Clinical trials are meticulously designed to meet the distinctive medical requirements of Rancho’s diverse patient population. CTD focuses on critical areas of rapid growth, providing patients access to promising new pharmaceuticals and device technologies that are otherwise unavailable through standard care.

02

Expanding Medical Care:

Rancho patients who participate in clinical trials receive enhanced medical attention beyond the hospital’s usual services. Increased oversight helps physicians identify and prevent adverse medical events early, while additional interventions—offered both in-clinic and at home—significantly improve patients’ overall health and quality of life.

03

Serving an Underserved Population:

CTD, and RRI more broadly, is committed to ensuring that the voices and needs of Rancho’s underserved, minority patient population are represented in modern research. By actively recruiting participants from diverse backgrounds, CTD ensures that clinical trials generate data reflective of populations often underrepresented in medical studies. This inclusivity helps improve the effectiveness of treatments for all patients, particularly those from minority communities.

04

Empowering Clinicians:

RRI offers Rancho’s clinicians the opportunity to participate as investigators in important research, allowing them to contribute directly to the development of new treatments and enhance their expertise in their respective fields.

05

Advancing Medical Innovation:

CTD’s dedication to progress is evident in its collaboration with industry leaders on a wide range of trials. These efforts lead to better outcomes for patients and equip Rancho’s physicians with new tools, enhancing overall patient care and well-being.
