The Inaugural Sara J. Mulroy Spinal Cord Injury Symposium

Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center has a storied history as a nationally-funded SCI Model System Center, with expertise in the clinical management of persons with spinal cord injury. The Sara Mulroy SCI Symposium will be a one-day conference focused on the use of Interprofessional team collaboration and evidence-based medicine to provide tailored patient-centered care.  Didactic lectures and panel discussions will be utilized to provide a comprehensive approach to the clinical management of the person with spinal cord injury that maximizes readiness for rehabilitation.

A diverse spectrum of topics will be covered including spinal shock, projected functional recovery, skin and contracture management, neurogenic bowel/bladder, autonomic dysreflexia, and tracheostomy care.
