Treating the Anxious Dental Patient – Sedation in Dentistry

Fear and anxiety are huge barriers to dental care. For some patients, sedation is the only viable way to receive dental treatment. But is it the right modality for every patient? Who are appropriate candidates? If you are a dentist that does sedate patients, how can you best prepare your office and staff for sedation? Dr. Naftalin will review the nuts and bolts of sedation, from guideline and regulations, to how to prepare your patients preoperatively for sedation. He will review how to keep your patients safe under sedation, and review what is the appropriate monitoring that is required. From pre-op to discharge, Dr. Naftalin will discuss some of the hottest topics related to sedation and anesthesia.
