Andy Lin

MS, ATP

Andy Lin, MS, ATP is a rehabilitation engineer at the Center for Applied Rehabilitation Technology (CART) at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center (RLANRC) with over 25 years of experience in designing, creating and customizing tech for individuals with disabilities. He is also the founder and director of the Emerging Tech Lab at RLANRC, which focuses on the research and application of new and emerging technologies (e.g. 3d printing, AR/VR, wearables) for rehabilitation and independent living.

As an expert in accessibility, rehabilitation engineering, inclusive design, and assistive technology, Lin is a regular participant and speaker at clinical research, engineering, and tech conferences. He has directly collaborated on inclusive design projects with Microsoft and Google, as well as startups in the disability and rehab tech fields.

Lin is an adjunct professor of Assistive Technology Engineering at California State University Northridge (CSUN) as well as an adjunct professor of Product Design at the ArtCenter College of Design. He previously served as a visiting lecturer of medical/mechanical engineering at Caltech for 5 years, creating and teaching innovative courses in assistive device design to undergraduate and graduate students.
