
Antonio Moya
MD, MPH
Dr. Moya is in the Department of Neurology at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and Professor of Neurology at USC and Harbor UCLA. Dr. Moya’s expertise is in stroke prevention and treatment among underserved communities. His research focuses on health disparities in stroke care for Asian Pacific Islander (API) immigrants, particularly Filipino Americans, and the use of telemedicine to improve neurology education, referrals, diagnostics, and treatment. Dr. Moya has developed culturally tailored educational tools for the Filipino community and spearheads several public health initiatives. Dr. Moya is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN) and serves on the AAN Advocacy Engagement Subcommittee. He was awarded as a 40 Under 40 Leader in Minority Health by the National Minority Quality Forum and also honored as a member of the AAN Emerging Leaders Program.
Dr. Moya earned his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from UCLA, followed by a Master of Public Health in Global Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He completed his MD at UCSF and an medicine internship and neurology residency at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell and Memorial Sloan Kettering. He later joined the UCLA National Clinician Scholars Program, where he focused on addressing health inequities in stroke care. His work spans community-based participatory research, the establishment of telemedicine platforms in the Philippines through his Fulbright Fellowship, and the development of public service announcements to raise stroke awareness, all reflecting his commitment to improving health outcomes for underserved populations through education, research, and innovative care models. He is the Co-Founder of the Council of Young Filipino Americans in Medicine (CYFAM).
