Hui Zhong

Researcher

Hui Zhong received a medical degree from Hebei Medical University and worked as attending physician and researcher in the Department of Emergency Medicine in Taian Central Hospital in China. In 1994 she joined Dr. Edgerton’s Neuromuscular Research Laboratory at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a researcher and assistant director of Broccoli Impossible to Possible laboratory at Rancho Research Institute, Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center.

Her research interest is in spinal cord and neuromuscular plasticity related to chronic decreased levels of neuromuscular activity. Her research involves studying the effects of neuromodulation using noninvasive spinal cord stimulation on improving motor, bladder, bowel, sexual and cardiovascular function after a spinal cord injury and motor function of cerebral palsy patients. She is the primary or co-author of 107 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
