Ziyad Ayyoub

Ziyad Ayyoub, MD, is a renowned leader in the field of neurorehabilitation, serving as the Medical Director of Outpatient Specialty Care, Vice Chair of the Department of Neurorehabilitation, and the former Chief of Medical Staff at the prestigious Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center (RLANRC).

As a leading Principal Investigator at Rancho Research Institute (RRI), Dr. Ayyoub spearheads multiple international, multi-center, industry-sponsored and grant-based clinical trials that are advancing the future of rehabilitation medicine. His pioneering work, which has been extensively published in esteemed medical journals, focuses on cutting-edge treatments such as spasticity management, botulinum toxin therapy, and stem cell therapies aimed at transforming patient care and contributing significantly to the body of knowledge in his field.

In addition to his leadership at RLANRC and RRI, Dr. Ayyoub is deeply committed to medical education. He holds the role of Site Director for the UCLA Multicampus Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Training Program at RLANRC, and he serves as a distinguished Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, a Clinical Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Western University of Health Sciences, and a Clinical Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Charles Drew University. Frequently invited to speak at academic institutions and professional organizations, Dr. Ayyoub is sought after for his expertise on a wide range of topics. Through these roles, he plays a pivotal part in mentoring and preparing the next generation of leading physicians and specialists.

Dr. Ayyoub’s numerous contributions have not only advanced the field of rehabilitation medicine but also earned him the honor of being named a Fellow of both the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) and the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP).
